Over five months after LG initially announced that it will be bringing Android 4.2.2 updateto its Google TV devices; the company finally started rolling it out on Thursday.
This update bumps the LG Google TV devices from Android 3.2 based software to Android 4.2.2, which brings support for more apps and Chrome for Android as the default browser.
Update change-log
- Improved mobile app compatibility through Android NDK support
- New Vudu application
- Chrome browser changed from PC to Android version (no Adobe Flash support now)
- Deleted Crackle and Plex apps
The software update is currently live for GA6400-series models but other LG Google TV devices are expected to get it in the coming days.
There is still no word on when other Google TV manufacturers plan to update their devices to Android 4.2.2.
